The above picture, which encapsulates many of the features of
our pleasant seaside town, was drawn by one of our members,
Joan Colburn.
Weston-super-Mare, once just a small fishing village on the
Somerset coast looking across the Severn estuary to South Wales,
first became popular as a seaside resort in Victorian times.
It is now well-known to visitors from all over the country.
It is home to one of the country's most active U3A groups, with
over 800 members participating in some sixty different activities.
